TRAU storm into MNCA U-16 Boys' NRS Trophy final with 68-run victory over RCA

Imphal, January 08 2025: TRAU (Kwakeithel) beat RCA (Lilong) by 68 runs via VJD method to reach the final of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 .

Batting first, RCA were dismissed for 87 in 20.4 overs as Syed Sami Ul (23), Nawaz Sarif (14), Albaz Hussain (13) and Samir Khan (12) managed to reach double digits in their innings.

TRAU's bowlers, led by Preethson Arubam and Mutum Swabhiman, were in exceptional form, each claiming 3 wickets.

Ringku Moirangthem added 2 wickets, while Huiningshumbam Luching took 1 .

In response, TRAU chased down the revised target of 68 runs in 16.5 overs, following the application of the VJD method, which reduced the match to 21 overs.

Mutum Swabhiman (18 not out) and Preethson Arubam (17 not out) guided their team to victory.

Tyrus Chabungbam (8), Ishorch andra Loitongbam (6), Potsangbam Jeet (2) and Huiningshumbam Luching (1) also contributed in their semifinal triumph at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang ), on Wednesday.

In the process, TRAU lost 4 wickets.
