VETO crowned champions of 72nd Senior Manipur State Kabaddi Championship

Imphal, July 29 2025: The 72nd Senior Manipur State Kabaddi Championship wrapped up on Tuesday with VETO crowned champions following a convincing victory over Ima Kalika in the final, held at the Khonghampat Mayai Leikai Playground.

In a closely contested title clash, VETO triumphed 42-36 .

Earlier, in the semifinals, VETO secured a convincing 41-30 win against ALUC, while Ima Kalika edged past AM-DASCAM by a narrow 34-33 margin.

Individual accolades were also presented during the closing ceremony.

VETO crowned champions of 72nd Senior Men's State Kabaddi C'ship

S Ashananda of VETO was adjudged Best Player of the Tournament.

M Menson of Ima Kalika received the Best Raider award, and S Samir of AMDASCAM was named Best Defender.

Meanwhile, The Best Discipline Team title was awarded to AMDASCAM.

The closing ceremony was attended by W Sumati Devi, social worker, as chief guest.

L Boby Devi, Adhyaksha of Imphal West, presided over the function, while W Chan-drakumar, Pradhan of Khonghampat Gram Panchayat, was the guest of honour.

Other dignitaries included ward members Rk Sarda, I Dhoni Singh, A Kamala Devi, G Tombi, L Radha Devi, W Jiten, and Ksh Ranjit.

Renowned singer and actor Hamom Sadananda was a special invitee.

Organised under the aegis of the Manipur State Kabaddi Association (MSKA), the tournament was hosted by the Khonghampat Mayai Leikai Youth Pioneer Club (KYPC) .
