BDS Team wins Maj L Jyotin Memorial Interbatch Football Tournament at RIMS

Imphal, April 13 2025: The inaugural Major L Jyotin Memorial Inter-Batch Football Tournament, organised by RIMS Students' Union (RIMSSU), concluded on Sunday with a closing ceremony held at RIMS Ground, Imphal.

The closing ceremony was attended by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, director RIMS, as chief guest, and Prof N Sanjib Singh, medical superintendent RIMS Hospital, who presided over the function.

In his address, Prof Sharma underscored the significance of sports in shaping character and building essential life skills among students.

He said, "Events like this not only promote physical well-being but also foster unity and camaraderie within the student community.

Dedicating this tournament to the memory of Major L Jyotin is a beautiful way to keep his legacy alive".

Prof Singh commended the efforts of the organising committee and praised the spirited involvement of the student body.

"He remarked, "It is heartening to witness the passion and energy of our students.

Such initiatives contribute immensely to the holistic development of future healthcare professionals".

The tournament culminated in a thrilling final match between the BDS team and the 2024 Batch, with the BDS team sealing the title with a 2-1 win.

The ceremony concluded with a prize distribution and expressions of gratitude extended to all participants, supporters and organisers, according to a press release from RIMS media cell.
