PCC crowned champions of 5th MNCA U-16 Boys NRSM Trophy

PCC (Mayai Koibi) prevailed against TRAU (Kwakeithel) by 67 runs in the final of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 on Saturday at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang).
Electing to bat, PCC were 211/10 in 34.1 overs as Lucky Thokchom (41), Rojer Laishram (31), Maverick Wakambam (22), Pebam Yoimayai (19), Rahis Khan (16) and Ziad Khan (15) were key contributors in their innings.
For TRAU, Mutum Swabhima was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets.
Preethson Arubam and Tyrus Chabungbam claimed 2 wickets each, and Ringku Moirangthem and Treeny Arubam bagged 1 apiece.
The Mayai Koibi boys then took 33.2 overs to bowl out TRAU for 144 to lay their hands on the Naorem Ra jningthou Singh Memorial trophy.
Lucky Thokchom led the charge with 3 scalps, supported by Lamnganba Nongmaithem and Ziad Khan who took 2 wickets each, while Rojer Laishram and Leishangthem Nelson chipped in with 1 wicket each.
Only Mutum Swabhiman (43) and Preethson Arubam (34) made notable contributions in TRAU's unsuccessful chase.

Mutum Swabhiman of TRAU was honoured as the man of the series, also receiving accolades for being the highest run-scorer and highest wicket-taker, amassing 497 runs and claiming 29 wickets.
Meanwhile, Lucky Thokchom of PCC was named the man of the final match.
With their title triumph, PCC pocketed a prize money of Rs 40,000 as TRAU got Rs 30,000 .
