Imphal, January 30 2024:
Manipur registered a resounding 9-wicket victory against Nagaland in their Group B match of the Women's U-23 One Day Trophy at Barsarat Ground, Kolkata on Monday.
The state women bowled out their opponents in 37.2 overs for 130 after Nagaland elected to bat.
Thoudam Mangalsana led the scalping, claiming 4 wickets as Angoubi K Devi did her bit with 2 scalps, with Khoibam Bunty Devi, Barkatun Khanam and Manimacha Angom chipping in with one wicket apiece.
Nagaland's innings saw Jyoti Thapa (35 not out), Najmeen Khatun (33) and Rwisumwi Basumatari (14) get into double digits.
In reply, Manipur achieved the target in 44 overs, amassing 133/1 to wrap up their emphatic win.
Efforts from Niruta Thoudam (56 not out) and Seterny Devi (50 not out) helped the state side win the game in dominant fashion.
Sheikh Neha, who made 8 for Manipur, was dismissed by Nagaland's Rwisumwi Basumatari.
