RIMS hosts 'Rite of Passage Ceremony' for graduating students

The "Rite of Passage Ceremony" Graduation Day 2024 of MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing students of Regional Institute Of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal was held today at the Jubilee Hall of RIMS.
The event was graced by Professor Naorem Lokendro Singh, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University wherein the graduating MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing students were accorded a warm welcome accompanied by distribution of certificates.
Meanwhile, Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS Imphal was present as the functional president with Brogen Singh Akoijam, Dean (Academic) RIMS Imphal; Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Professor B Praveen Reddy, Principal, Dental College; Professor H Jamuna Devi, Principal, Nursing College and Professor Th Meera, Chairperson, Organising Committee as the guests of honour of the ceremony.

Speaking as the chief guest, Professor N Lokendro lauded the degree holders who had successfully passed their exams from a reputed medical institute like RIMS Imphal while adding that their hard work has brought them to this notable point in the life of a healthcare professional.
Maintaining that they should treat patients with empathy and kindness, he pointed out that the medical profession does not only consist of treating sick people.
It also encompasses interacting with patients with great care and caution as well, he said.
Meanwhile, Professor G Sunilkumar Sharma reminded the graduating students that they still have to a lot of hardwork lined up in their future.
Even when faced with insurmountable difficulties, doctors, nurses and dentists should carry out their duty in a manner befitting their respected position in society, he added.
Medical practitioners should treat all their patients equally irrespective of their caste and creed, said the RIMS Director.
