Meiraba snatches under 15 boys' Double; placed 3rd position in under 15 boys' Single

Imphal, June 27 2015 : Maisnam Meiraba Luwang emerged as the winner in the Under-15 boys Double and has been placed in 3rd Position in the Under 15 boys' Single in the "PNB MetLife Chaaji Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2015" held at Thyaga Raj Stadium, New Delhi between June 22 and June 27 .

Another Manipur boy, Bidiyasagar Salam bagged the Runner-Up position in Under 13 Boy's Single.

Meiraba and Akash Thakur (Bihar) in Quarter finals defeated Dhruv Rawat (UTR) and Pavan Krishna Thokala (AP) - 18/21,21/18.21/14 .

In the semi finals, the pair thrashed Akash Yadav (Delhi) and Abhyansh Singh (UP) - 21/15.14/21.21/12 .

Meiraba and partner Akash Thakur outclassed the duo - Takum Laa (Arunachal) and Yash Raikwar - Point 21/18, 22/20 .

In the under 15 Boys' Single, Meiraba bagged the 3rd position after defeating Dishanta Debanath of Bengal who was ranked all India Second in pre-quarters and in quarters, he beat Vishnuvardhan Goud P.(Telengana)- 21/9 .21/1 .

He lost in semi finals to Abhyansh Singh (UP) - 10/21,21/10.21/15 .

Bidiyasagar Salam is Runner-up in the under 13 age boys Single.

He defeated Tushar Kumar Setu (Bihar) in Pre-QTR finals and thrashed Sanker Muthusamy S.(Tamil Nadu) in QTR Final -21/18,21/15 .

In the semi finals, he defeated Chayani Joshi (UTR) - 21/13.21/11 .

And eventually lost in finals to Vikas Yadav (Delhi) - 21/15.21/13 .

The tournament had an entry of 1377 players from all over India.

The total number of entry in Under 15 boys single is 401 and doubles entry - 107 and under 13 boys' single had 239 entries.
