SDO, AKSA win as KMSWC, LMLCC play out 1-0 draw in 18th DSA Trophy

Imphal, September 17 2024: SDO carved out a 2-1 win over UCC in Tuesday's action of the 18th DSA Trophy Invitation Football Tournament at DSA Kakching playground.

Kh Austosh put SDO ahead in the 47th minute and S Berish extended their advantage in the 53rd minute.

Despite Sh Malemnganba pulling one back for UCC in the 71st minute, SDO managed to hold on for the win.

Earlier on Monday, A Ruben scored a hat-trick in AKSA's 8-0 demolition of KMSWC.

AKSA broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute through Ruben and continued their dominance with goals in the 38th and 40th minutes by Ruben and Kh Amuthoi respectively.

Ruben completed his hat-trick just before halftime added time.

AKSA collected four more goals after break, with H Nongo (59, 71) scoring a double, Th Tomthinganba netting their seventh in the 64th minute and Th Karnajit rounding off the scoring in 76th minute strike.

Meanwhile, KMSWC and LMLCC played out a contentious 1-1 draw marred by an incident involving assistant referee DK Modarphun Maring, leading to the match being suspended with three minutes left to play.

Belan gave KMSWC the lead in the 32nd minute, but Mahes equalised for LMLCC in the 59th minute.

The match resumed the next day for the remaining minutes, but neither team could break the deadlock.

KMSWC were subsequently fined Rs 3000 for the assault on the assistant referee.
