Imphal, April 13 2025: The 1st Manipur Open Shooting Competition, organised by Manipur Rifle Association, wrapped up on Sunday after three days of intense competition.

The event featured top-tier talent across multiple categories, including 10M air rifle and air pistol events for men, women, juniors, youth, and novices.

In the 10M air rifle men category, Kongbrailatpam Asish Sharma secured gold with an impressive total score of 389, while Thokchom Telheiba Meitei (386) and Nongmaithem Jubraj Singh (383) took silver and bronze, respectively.

The women's air rifle event saw Sweety Ningthemcha dominate with a gold-winning score of 382, followed by Pukhrambam Bidyaluxmi Devi (379) and Ngashepam Sonia Devi (376) .

Meanwhile, the 10M air pistol men's competition was fiercely contested, with Sapam Chingkhei Hunba claiming gold (366), narrowly ahead of Pangambam Kunjabihari (363) and Laiphrakpam Rajesh Singh (352) .

In the women's air pistol category, Purbi Leima Ahei-bam emerged victorious with 342 points, while Thokchom Yaisana Chanu (337) and Tam-lennganbi Thounaojam (333) completed the podium.

The junior and youth categories also showcased remarkable performances.

Dhanaraj Thokchom excelled in both Junior men's and youth men's air rifle, securing gold in each with a score of 382.Sweety Ningthemcha replicated her success in the junior and youth women's air rifle events, while Aeronika Nongmeikapam dominated the junior and youth women's air pistol competitions.

Among novices, Joel Moirangthem (312) and Janita Nameirakpam (288) stood out as gold medallists in the air pistol and air rifle categories, respectively.
