Imphal, January 11 2025: Manipur emerged triumphant in the men's team event, clinching the gold medal at the 34th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship for Men & Women in Telangana on Saturday.

In a decisive final match against Delhi, Manipur secured a 2-0 victory.

The men's team exhibited exceptional skill, taking the first Regu with a score of 15-11, 15-13, followed by a closely contested second Regu ending 15-12, 12-15, 13-13 .

Earlier, they faced SSB in the semifinals, battling back from an initial setback in the first Regu (6-15, 10-15) to triumph 17-16, 15-6 in the second Regu, and ultimately securing victory with a score of 15-11, 15-8 in the third Regu.

Meanwhile, in the women's competition, Manipur finished third after a hard-fought semifinal against SSB, which ended 1-2 .

Despite a strong start in the first Regu with a 15-7,15-12 win, Manipur encountered difficulties in subsequent Regus, conceding 13-15, 11-15 in the second and 15-11, 9-15, 11-15 in the third.
