9th MNCA Plate Tournament : NAPSA, KSDO cruise to 6th straight wins ; confirm knock-out round berths

Imphal, December 26 2024: NAPSA, Kha Imphal and KSDO, Kyamgei cruised to their 6th straight victories in the Group A and Group B league stage competition of the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament.

The two sides remained on top of the Group tables respectively and confirmed their places in the knock-out stage.

In the Group B match held at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, KSDO completed their sixth win on the trot by defeating YAC, Yaiskul by 7 wickets.

Krishnananda Khwairakpam (56 off 28 balls) and Bhopendra Mangang (54 off 51 balls) scored half centuries on the way to YAC's innings total of 166/8 in 25 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat first.

KSDO however eased to winning 170 in 20.1 overs thanks to an unbeaten 69-ball 74 by Md Arif Khan and a quickfire half century from Tarique Aziz (50 off 34 balls) .

For KSDO, Md Riyajuddin (2/12 in 5 overs) and Abdul Rafique (2/10 in 1 over) shared four wickets as Kh Krishnananda and H Guneshwor shared a wicket apiece for YAC.

Md Arif Khan was eventually adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere in a Group A league match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, NAPSA Kha Imphal defeated THAU wickets by chasing down a target of 159 runs in 26 overs.

THAU racked up 158 runs for 6 wickets in 35 overs thanks to Kh Aden 41, Th Yoihenba 32 and Kh Romesh 31 in an innings that saw N Bipin claiming two wickets (2/32) and four others claiming a wicket apiece for NAPSA.

For NAPSA, Heisnam Boney scored an unbeaten 90 off 85 balls to set up the victory with 7 wickets left to spare.

Kh Romesh (2/18) and Kh Aden (1/32) scored three wickets for THAU.

Boney who starred with the bat for NAPSA was named player of the match.
