Angkhel, Challong, Sektaikarong win in All Lamkang Sports Meet 2022

Imphal, May 17 2022: Angkhel Chayang, Challong and Sektaikarong emerged the victors in the men's football competition as the 56th All Lamkang Sports Meet 2022 got underway at Angkhel Chayang, Chandel, on Tuesday.

In the opening match, Angkhel Chayang made a resounding start to their campaign with an 8-2 drubbing of Khorpi.

Renghon (13', 31', 56') and Bunghong (22', 35', 74') both starred for the winning side by scoring a hat-trick each as Rengam (71') contributed a goal.

Angkhel's other goal (8') came via an own goal by Khorpi's Rengsing.

Khorpi scored their two goals through Bungthot (46') and Shetpol (59') .

Challong, meanwhile, claimed a thumping 5-0 victory over Kongpe in the second match.

Alex Kangten (23', 33', 43') grabbed a hat trick, with Rengthot Dilbung (55') adding a goal.

The winning team got their first goal (3') through an own goal by Kongpe's Wangjoy.

Sektaikarong overcame Ksenkhupi 3-1 in a penalty shootout after both teams remained goalless at the end of regulation time.

In the shootout, Thams-ing, Anthony and Khumring converted their shots to make sure of their 3-1 result against their opponents who only managed a goal through Kohemson.

In women's volley, P Rairingkhu beat Thamlakhuren 3-0, Phaidaam defeated Dulsenlown 3-0, Angkhel Chayang downed Komsen 3-1, and Rindamkhu outperformed Sektai Karong 3-0 .
