Kanglei Yelhou Cheingak to host Lamyanba Hijam lrabot Memorial Marathon

Imphal, September 15 2025: Kanglei Yelhou Cheingak is set to organise a distance run titled - Lamyanba Hijam Irabot Ningshing Lamsang Lamj el (Memorial run) on September 30 in connection with the 129th birth anniversary celebration of the revered leader.

The run to be organised in association with the Athletics Association of Manipur will be flagged off from the memorial stone of historic "Pundongbam Incident" at Pungdongbam and culminate at Johnstone Higher Secondary School, said Kanglei Yelhou Cheingak in a press release.

The run aims to commemorate and highlight the dedication and fight of Hijam Irabot against social evils and injustice before he was forced to go underground, it said.

The theme of the run will be "Leaders' Oath, A Legacy of Sacrifice", it said.

Eminent personalities in diverse fields will also be honoured at the occasion, it said.

The last date of entry for the run is September 27 and forms can be had from various venues- Destinytails, Konungmamang; Raghumani Pharmacy, Kongba Bazar; Phonex, Rupmahal Tank; Liklam Football Academy, Yourabung; Hair Studio, Chingarel Tejpur; Yumnam Brothers Pharmacy, Khongman Mangjil, and Athletics Association of Manipur, head office at Mapal Kangjeibung, it added.
