Imphal, April 13 2025:
AKSDO outclassed AL-AMEEN by a massive margin of 158 runs in Sunday's action of the 1st MNCA Women's U-23 One Day Trophy.
AKSDO's victory was set up by a fiery batting display and sealed with a disciplined bowling effort.
Electing to bat, AKSDO got off to a steady start despite losing opener Olebia Khundrakpam early.
Captain Taniya Ningthoujam (18 off 27) and Langlen Ningthoujam (47 off 55) stabilised the innings before Alish Thokchom took centre stage with a scintillating knock.
Alish's 72 off 61 balls, laced with 10 fours and a towering six, propelled AKS-DO to a competitive total.
Contributions from Daina Moirangthem (23 off 29) and a flurry of extras (59 in total, including 51 wides) further bolstered the score to 238/8 in 35 overs.
AL-AMEEN's bowlers struggled for consistency, with Farhana (3/32) emerging as the most successful.
However, the likes of Sanjida (1/68 in 7 overs) proved expensive, leaking runs at 9.71 per over.
Chasing 239, AL-AMEEN never got going.
Their innings was plagued by tight bowling and a lack of partnerships.
Openers Najiya Begum (22 off 57) and Linthoi Khulem (4 off 15) fell cheaply, while the middle order crumbled against AKSDO's relentless attack.
Only Sanji-da (7 off 81) and Farhana (6* off 39) offered brief resistance, but the required run rate spiralled out of reach.
Bijiya Khundrakpam was the standout bowler, delivering a spell of 2/7 in 7 overs, including 4 maidens.
Alish Thokchom capped off her player of the match performance with 2/16, while Thokchom Langlen Chanu (1/12) and the rest of the attack kept the pressure on.
AL-AMEEN limped to 80/5 in their 35 overs, falling well short of the target.
