Enlighten Knowledge Hr Sec School includes Thang-Ta in school curriculum

Imphal, October 19 2024: Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School in Sangakpham has added Thang-Ta in the school curriculum and start teaching it as a subject to Class XI students from today in association with the Apunba Manipur Huyen Langlon Lup (AMHLL) .

The teaching programme was formally kicked off with ritual ceremonies conducted in the presence of Sintakpa Sapam Inaobi, general secretary of the AMHLL; Dr Khaidem Binodkumar, Principal of Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School; Sintakpa Thongam Yaiphaba Kha Nganba, organisation and HRD secretary AMHLL.

Sintakpa Irom Pibaremba has been entrusted with the responsibilities of the teaching programme, said AMHLL in a statement.

Students in every schools will be disciplined and well mannered in addition to the basic knowledge of self defence, physical and mental consciousness and eventually help in shaping a responsible and healthy society if Thang-Ta is incorporated as a compulsary subject in the State's educational curriculum, AMHLL observed.

Girl students should also explore the valuable aspects present in this indigenous martial art-form, it added.

AMHLL also urged schools and localities intending to avail Thang-Ta coaching to reach out to the association, it said while promising all kinds of assistance they can provide in conducting Thang-Ta coaching programme.
