ESU, RCA, Al-Ameen prevail in MNCA Men's U-23 Tournament

U, RCA and Al-Ameen recorded victories in Wednesday's fixtures of the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament 2023-24.A splendid bowling effort from Bishomcha Khundrakpam and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma helped ESU inflict a crushing eight-wicket on KSDO in their meeting at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Deciding to held, ESU bundled out KSDO in 6.4 overs for a mere 31.Bishomcha Khundrakpam proved to be the star performer with the ball, scalping five wickets in his six-over spell.
Naoba Sharma also made his mark with three wickets while Thokchom Simesh and Hanjabam Donba Sharma chipped in with one apiece to lay the foundation for ESU's victory.
In their innings, only Md Abdul Razaque (16) reached double digits for KSDO.
Chasing 32, ESU took 6.4 overs to finish the job, with Hanjabam Donba Sharma scoring 15 and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma making an unbeaten 14.In the process, openers Donba and Akoijam Sangba Singh fell to Md Abdul Razaque.
RCA dominated RULE by seven wickets in a low-scoring match at Cherapur, Thoubal.
RCA chose to bat first and managed 120 after being dismissed in 32.4 overs.
In the innings, Syed Hussain (30), Md Anush (23), Naesh Hussain (17) and Md Alfash (16)'were the main run-getters for RCA.
Making up for their poor innings, RCA produced a disciplined bowling attack to end RULE'S run chase in 29.3 overs for 113 as Sanjenbam Suresh scored 39 for the latter in defeat.
Aziz Mirza and Iliyas played a crucial role in RCA's win, claiming scalps each, with MD Danish Khan and Naesh Hussain collecting two apiece.
Earlier, Boocker Kangjam took three wickets while Jay Singh, Sanjenbam Somokanta Khuman and Sunil Kumar bagged one each for RULE.
Al-Ameen beat PCC by 29 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, Al-Ameen posted 164 after being bowled out in 39.2 overs.
In their innings, Nawaz (40), Mohd Sagir Ahamed (32), Md Raeesh Khan (18), Md Tahsin (13) and FM Sakil Ahamed (12) contributed to their total.
For PCC, Mairembam Lucky Meitei and Pravin Kumar picked up three wickets each while Takhelmayum Vikash took two.
In reply, PCC came up short as they were all out in 39.2 overs for 144 .
Md Karim and FM Sakil Ahamed claimed three wickets each while Khulakpam Hanif collected two, with Mohd Sagir Ahamed and Nawaz taking one each to help Al-Ameen secure a 20-run victory.
