CRAU, PCC, SCCC triumph in MNCA Men's U-23 Tournament

Imphal, June 14 2024:
CRAU, PCC and SCCC notched up wins in the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament 2023-24 on Friday.
CRAU outplayed PTCC by 99 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Thongam Joychandra's unbeaten 116 propelled CRAU to a competitive total of 244/9 in their 40 overs.
Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei (27), Lamabam Jotin Singh (23), Sanatomba K (18), Khumanthem Prakash Singh (14) and Bm Sabakhan (11) all contributed to their total.
In reply, PTCC wilted under pressure and ended up making only 145 after being dismissed in 37.3 overs as gritty knocks from Paonam Champion Singh (72) and Dominic Moirangthem (39) went in vain.
It was a collective bowling performance that helped CRAU make short work of their opponents, with Khumanthem Prakash Singh and Dinu Sarangthem claiming two wickets apiece, and Bm Sabakhan, Thongam Joychandra and Rojer Laishram each taking one in their triumph.
Earlier, Moirangthem Gunggung Meitei, Chingakham Nikhil Meetei and Loukrakpam Anao Singh took two wickets each for PTCC.
PCC, meanwhile, enjoyed a five-wicket hammering of MODEL in their meeting at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
MODEL elected to bat and were all out for 118 in 29.1 overs, thanks to Ajay Mh Kumar's lethal bowling spell.
Dibak Naorem (38) and Bisal Ningombam (37) were the only performers in their innings.
Ajay Mh Kumar dazzled with the ball for PCC as he scalped six wickets while conceding only 15 runs in his five-over spell.
L Chingheihunba Meitei did his bit with two wickets while Nongdamba Khunjamayum got one.
PCC then took 27.1 overs to finish off the chase, losing five wickets in the process.
Takhelmayum Vikash (46 not out), backed by Lucky Thokchom(30)and Nongdamba Khunjamayum (28), guided PCC to a comfortable win.
For MODEL, Suson Yanglem Singh picked up three wickets while Bisal Ningombam and Ronald Ningombam bagged one each.
At Moijing Public Ground (Thoubal), SCCC defeated IBSA by 15 runs in a low-scoring match.
Asked to bat, SCCC were dismissed for 150 in 28.5 overs.
Basant (81) and Bicky Kumar Das (27) were the only bright spots for SCCC in their innings as Pravesh and Boney Potshangbam wreaked havoc on the Singjamei squad's batting order.
The IBSA duo shared seven wickets between them.
Shyam Kumar Ray came to the rescue of SCCC's poor innings by coming up with a magnificent bowling spell to take six wickets that helped them end IBSA's run chase in 23.5 overs for 135 .
Also contributing in SCCC's victory were Basant, Lishan Meitei Khaidem, Rex Waikhom and Bicky Kumar Das who each got one wicket.
