CRPF organised cricket tourney begins at Kongpal

Imphal, November 12 2025: The cricket tournament organised by 152 Bn CRPF along with Sports Authority of India (SAI) at AAA playground, Kongpal Kongkham Leikai was formally opened today.

The opening ceremony was attended by DC Imphal West, M Rajkumar; SP Imphal West, Ksh Shivakanta Singh; Love Kumar PMG, Commandant - 152 Bn CRPF; and others including SAI representatives.

The tournament organised under Khelo India campaign with the theme- Sports for Peace and Development, is featuring 20 teams and will continue till November 19, said a press note issued by the 152 Bn CRPF.

Th Malviya Devi and Robert from SAI also attended the event and highlighted the SAl's role in promoting sportsmanship.

Students of a nearby school also presented a cultural programme during the opening ceremony, it said.

Love Kumar PMG in his speech expressed warmth and companionship with the youth and people of Manipur.

He also spoke on the role of CRPF and the unit in safeguarding the people under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF.

Imphal West DC and SP also addressed the players and spectators and motivated them to promote peace and harmony in the State, it added.
