Manipur added three more gold while West Bengal lifters collected two of yellow metals in heavier divisions on the penultimate day of the four-day eastern India Weightlifting Championship at GM Hall today.
Th Memicha Chanu added the day's first gold medal to the hosts' tally with a total lift of 170 kg in the women's 63 kg class as A Jenetabi Devi (156 kgs) swelled the total gold haul to eight with top podium finish in the 69 kg competition.
Th Arunjit Singh provided the third gold medal of the day when he heaved a total of 245 kg to bag the men's 77 kg honour.
The day's remaining two gold medals were shared by West Bengal's Sumit Das of (85 kg class) and Sanjay Singh (94 kg).
L Laxmi Devi of Meghalaya (63 kg), Mizoram's Lalchanhimi (69 kg), Rajnish Kumar Singh of Bihar (77 kg), Ratul Baruah of Assam and Mohiudin of Jharkhand (94 kg) were the silver medal winners while PC Vanlalanpui (Mizoram), Bithika Mondal (West bengal), Gani Ansari (Jharkhand), H Tagore Singh and Lalremruata (Mizoram) secured bronze medals in their respective categories.
