Manipur continue medal run at Aquatic Nationals

Imphal, August 08 2024: Manipur continued their medal streak by winning a gold and a silver medal on the third day of the 40th Sub-Junior and 50th Junior National Aquatic Championship 2024.On Thursday, Manipur dominated the boys' group-III breaststroke event with a one-two finish.

Laitonjam Punghen made his mark by clinching the gold medal, with fellow state swimmer Soram Pietersen taking the silver.

Punghen clocked 1: 23.52 minutes to claim the top podium honour as Pietersen was a close second with a time of 1:24.08 minutes.

After the third day of competition, Manipur's medal haul has surged to six, with four gold and two silver medals.
