WAKO India National Kickboxing C'ships : Manipur rack up 39 medals including 24 gold to claim overall team champions title

Manipur emerged overall team champions at the WAKO India National Kickboxing Championships hosted by Rajasthan in Jaipur since July 25 .
Manipur amassed as many as 24 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals to earn the top honour.
The last day of the championships saw State athletes gathering 14 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Off the total 24 medals won today, the junior team contributed 6 gold, 1 silver and a bronze medal.
In the junior category competitions, Ningthoujam Mavin won a gold medal in the -60 kg low kick event as Thongam Delvin won a gold medal in the -45 kg musical form and a bronze medal in the kick light event.

S Puinakanta meanwhile picked a gold medal in the -51 kg full contact event before settling for a silver in the musical form.
Ch Yoibuyoihenba also won a gold medal in the -63 kg kick light event as Achanba Chingakham won a gold and a bronze medal in the -51 kg low kick and musical form events.
Hidam Adison won the 6th gold medal in the -51 kg category K-1 event while L Tokendro Sharma won a -67 kg category low kick bronze.
In the senior section, Ningombam Lanchenba (-57 kg), Sagolshem Youngone (-51 kg) and Thoudam Henthoiba (-63.5 kg) won gold medals in the low-kick events as K Robertson (-74 kg), L Dhanachandra (-91 kg), Lisham Brajakumar (-79 kg), Ningombam Nongdaingamba (-57 kg) and S Julia won gold medals respectively in the light kick, K-1, kick light, full contact and musical form events.
Laishram Kuber (-69 kg) and Oinam Gobin (-79 kg) in the meantime won silver medals in the kick light event as L Sanathoi won another silver in the -51 kg light contact event.
Athletes winning bronze medals are Ningthoujam Rousseau (-69 kg point fighting), Laishram Sanaton (-69 kg point fighting) and Kh Chingkheinganba (-69 kg kick light) .
