34th Inter District and 60th Sate Badminton Tourney begins

Imphal, October 01 2015: The 34th Inter District and 60th State Badminton Tournament, organised by the Manipur Badminton Association began today at MBA Indoor Stadium, DM College Campus, Imphal.

Altogether, 239 shuttlers including from MPSC are participating in the tournament.

The opening ceremony of the tournament was graced by Dy Inspector General of Police (Ranger-1), Manipur IPS IK Muivah, Badminton Association of India vice president and Manipur Badminton Assocaition president Bijoy Koijam and State Academy of Training Joint Director W Chandrakumar as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

In today's 34th Inter District junior event, Imphal West district registered a straight set win over Imphal East team.

Thoubal district stunned Bishnupur 3-1.Imphal West will meet Thoubal district in the junior's final.

In the semi-finals of the senior event, Imphal West downed Bishnupur 3-2 and in another semi final Thoubal edged out MPSC 3-2 .

Imphal West will clash with Thoubal in the final.

In the U-15 boys's singles event, Konjengbam Nganba was given a walkover after Rohit Tongbram did not turn up for the match, S Millinnium overcame Dilip Khundongbam 19-21, 21-9, 21-14 and Tongbram Bonson claimed an easy 21-6, 21-7 over Vivek Phairembam.

In the U-13 boys' singles group, Naorem Rohit defeated Khundrakpam Anderson Singh 21-10, 21-14, Konsam Sandeep Singh beat Bikiraj Thingbaijani 21-5, 21-6, Hemam Malemnganba Singh was given a walkover after his opponent Keisham Yoihenba did not turn up for the match, Toijam Devadash Singh downed Konjengbam Malemnganba 21-14, 21-11, Yumnam Sudiskumar Singh claimed a 21-10, 21-6 win against Thokchom Satish Meitei, Laishram Jony Singh beat Thockchom Rikarson Singh 20-22, 21-15, 21-16, Koijam Bilash Singh defeated Aribam Nikhil Sharma 21-11, 1-21, 21-8, Upananda Rajkumar crushed Ningombam Derick Meitei 21-3, 21-8, Takhellambam Hemjit Singh downed Yaikhom Bigyando Singh 21-3, 21-14, Sarangthem Jeotichandra defeated Leishangthemcha Yaiphaba 21-10, 21-8, Raman Leimapokpam edged past Th Debabrata Singh 21-13, 21-16, L Brickson beat Amuthoi Leimapokpam 21-8, 21-13, Arbin Soram defeated Khumukcham Shileiba 21-6, 21-2, Sairem Albert downed Chingangbam Ritesh Singh 21-16, 21-8, Wahengbam Malemnganba edged out Mutum Japan Singh 21-9, 21-18, Sanasam Puwanghanba defeated Karam Vikram Singh 21-12, 21-9, Maibram Agalin Singh claimed a thrilling 21-19, 24-26, 21-13 win against Maisnam Juistarlice Singh, Thingujam Rodickson thrashed Naorem Rohit 21-7, 21-9, Jomi Singam registered an easy win against Takhellambam Bikash 21-12, 21-7, Nameirakpam Mangangcha beat RK Ronald Singh 21-16, 21-15, Punshiba Yengkhom beat Nongthombam Avinash 21-0, 21-5, Ph Arju Singh downed Sanabam Malemnganba Meetei 21-10, 21-9, Konjengbam Nganba defeated Ng Pradeep 21-11, 21-16, Bidyachandra Khundrakpam defeated Kh Resque 21-10, 21-11, Laishram Victaraj Khuman edged past Khagokpam Rohit Singh 21-18, 22-24, 21-12, Maibam Naoba Singh defeated Ng Sachindev 21-14, 21-11, Sanasam Radhakanta Singh defeated Pangambam Swami Singh 22-10, 21-14, Rahul Pukhrambam thrashed Yaikhomba Laurembam 21-6, 21-7 .
