A press note signed by Khaimang Chongloi, General Secretary, KIM said KIM convened a joint meeting of Zomi Council, Hmar Inpui, Mizo People's Convention, Kuki Inpi Churachandpur, Vaiphei People's Council, United Zou Organization, Simte Tribe Council, Paite Tribe Council, Tiddim Chin Union, Thangkhal Tribe Union, Komrem Union, Thadou Tribe Council, Gangte Tribe Council, Mate Tribe Council and Joint Action Committee at KIC office, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
The joint meeting had a threadbare discussion on the issues confronting the tribal people of Manipur and the current tension while unanimously adopting various resolutions.
The joint meeting condemned the inaction of the Government of Manipur against the memorandum submitted by KIM on September 21 urging the Chief Minister to call back the Bills and place on his table for further discussion and reconsideration with participation of all stakeholders both from hills and valley communities, Chongloi added.
He further said that the joint meeting fullly authorized KIM to initiate dialogue with the Government of Manipur on the three Bills.
The joint meeting also agreed to extend unflinching support to KIM in taking up the initiative, the statement said.
