"I can never forget the hospitality of the people of Manipur and the State's salubrious climate," retired Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga told The Sangai Express.
"I could not control tears welling up in my eyes the moment I realised that I would be retiring and bidding farewell to my friends and colleagues alike," continued the IAS officer of Manipur-Tripura cadre.
He said that he was quite touched by the loving farewells given by fellow employees and the State Government.
"After a condolence meeting in honour of the demise of Governor Dr Syed Ahmed, Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam came to office on September 28 and we talked for almost one hour over a cup of tea each.
It was one memorable and a very rare meeting of its kind", PC Lawmkunga said.
Informing that he has been offered the post of Chairman, Mizoram Public Service Commission, PC Lawmkunga confided that he would accept the offer.
