Imphal, October 01 2015:
The Coordinating Committee, All Tribal students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has expressed disappointment over the alleged lack of moral conscience and deafening silence to the clarion call echoed to all the tribal legislators before and after the passing of the 'anti-tribal Bills' .
In a statement, CC ATSUM said, it is obvious that the Government of Manipur interpreted fishes for snakes in the print media and the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) turned a blind eye to it for fear of displeasing the Chief Minister.
Whereas, to dispel doubts and confusions amongst the general public and the members of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC), a critique of the Bills has been delivered to all the legislators paving way for corrective measures before the expiry of the stipulated period of time for their resignation.
However, tribal legislators have failed to feel the pulse and sentiments of the tribals.
Now that, the matter lies in the hand of the President of India, a joint delegation comprising of the Coordinating Committee, ATSUM and the JAC will be heading for Delhi any time now to meet Central leaders at the helms of affairs.
In line with the democratic agitation to be launched, an emergency Assembly will be convened to decide the future course of actions only after the return journey of the delegation from Delhi, it added.
