Wushu: Manipur emerged overall team champions

Manipur emerged overall team champions of the 23rd Junior, Youth National Wushu Championship 2024 held at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu from July 27 to 31 .
The state team won a total of 38 medals to seal the overall championship title.
Their medal haul included 15 gold, 14 silver and nine bronze medals.
Manipur also bagged team title in Taolu event after securing 13 gold, nine silver and six bronze medals during the course of the competition.
Among the athletes who claimed top podium honours were lyathoi (Nandao & Nanun boys events), Jona (Taijiquan & Taijishan girls), Ngamba Aheibam (Taijuquan & Taijishan boys), Jollyson Thangjam (Nanquan boys event), Bhumeshore (Taijishan boys), Nganthoiba (traditional boys), Kharaijam Sunila (traditional girls), Luhenbi (Nan type girls), Yaiphaba (Taichi type boys), Sunila (Taichi type girls), and Jetish.
The silver medallists included Thounganba Aheibam, Okram lyathoi, Wahengbam Bhumeshore, Tomthinganbi, Linthoingambi, Wangthoi, Jollyson, Yaiphaba, Borish, Hennary, Silvia and Abenao.
Manipur also added a silver medal in girls' team event courtesy of the state trio Kiya, Kajal, Linthoingambi.
On the other hand, Wangthoi Thangjam, Tongbram Saya, Taruba Khuraijam, Olica, Taruba Khuraijam, Kajal, Jollyson, Prithibiraj, Arnolder Happy, and a team of Kajal, Linthoingambi, Taruba Yaiphaba, Bidyasagar, Ricky, Lanchenba, Thoithoiba, lyathoi, Wangthoi & Jollyson (group event) took bronz medals for the state.
