Noney, August 16 2019: The first district-level Independence Day Open Volleyball Trophy-2019, organised by District Sports Association, Noney district concluded on August 15 in the presence of PG Singsit IPS, SP Noney and Kasaigai Gangmei, Chairman Longmai Village Authority graced the closing ceremony as the chief Guest & the functional President respectively along with Napolean Rongmei, DFO Noney Division, Adai Dangmei, Chairman Villages Council Longmai Area, & Kaguichung Gonmei, Chairman, Longmai Customary Court as the special guests.

Satudai Youth Club (SYC) emerged as Champions of this inaugural edition and claimed a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and certificates while KYLSC, Kachikhul finished runners up to contend with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and certificates.

Nungnang Circle Youth Organisation (NCYO)-A claimed 3rd place and were also encouraged with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificates.

The three day event was contested by 12 teams including teams of 10 Assam Rifles & from Khoupum area.

Certificates were given out to every participating teams.

The matches were officiated by Jiten Singh, Chaorel Singh, Romesh Singh, Chaothoi Singh and Ojit Singh.

Despite rain playing spoilsport for most parts of the final day, many spectators coming from Longmai area & Imphal area turned out in big numbers and were treated to an exciting finale .
