Imphal, August 16 2019:
The United Tribal People's Council Manipur (UTPCM) submitted a memorandum to the Governor urging prompt action to ensure that the SOs, AEs and EEs concerned of the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) are regular and sincere in their duties.
A press release issued by the association today mentioned that the memo explained that MTDC is an important institution for the implementation of major projects for the welfare and development of tribal areas in the State and added that the Minister concerned as well as the Director, SOs, AEs, EEs and other staff need to be very sincere and regular while discharging their duties.
Alleging that most of the officials are neglecting their duties and are irregular, it claimed that most of them discharge their duties from their residences and this has become a big obstruction for the development of the tribal people.
As such, UTPCM urged the Governor to take up prompt action at the earliest to ensure that the officials concerned are sincere in their duties.
If the authorities fail to heed the appeal of the association, UTPCM will be compelled to take up its own course of action and the sole responsibility will fall on the State Government, it cautioned.
