Khongjon YC held by Chumbang FC in DC Chandel Trophy Super Division League closing match

Imphal, September 15 2025: Khonjon YC's hope of signing off the DC Chandel Trophy Super Division League with the second win was dashed as Chumbang FC rallied to salvage a 2-2 draw in the last match of the 6-team top-tier district league tournament.

Dangshawa handed Chumbang FC the lead early in the 3rd minute but Ng Bedeenpaar helped Khongjon YC who were winless so far to come to level terms after 13 minutes.

Ng Bedeenpaar completed his brace in the 19th minute to ensure the team a 2-1 first half lead but K Richard netted the equaliser for Chumbang FC in the 53rd minute.

The two sides made series of exchanges as both Chumbang FC and Khongjon YC who had scored a win each in the previous 4 matches but defence emerged on top to force the game end in a 2-2 draw.

With the win, Khongjon YC finished fourth in the league table on 6 points as Chumbang FC finished fifth on 4 points.

Ziontlang SYC emerged winners of the tournament on September 12 with a 5-2 thrashing of Chumbang FC for the fourth win.
