XII Zadonang Memorial Football : Pameichun scores thrice for LYC in 7-0 thrashing of NYC

Imphal, November 12 2018: Pameichun Palmei shone as he hit a hattrick to help Longjang team, LYC decimate Namguilong side, NYC in a Group A league match of the ongoing XIIth Zadonang Memorial Football Tournament organised by Zeliangrong Football Association at THAU Sports Complex.

SKYC, Sawombung and DFC, Duigaipangjang scripted 2-0 wins in other matches of the day staged latter while NYC, Namdunlong and YKDC, Yurembam played out a 2-2 draw.

Gailangam Gonmei opened up the scoring for LYC early in the 10th minute before Chpduramwiboi doubled their advantage in the 14th minute.

The very next minute saw star of the day, Pameichun hit his first goal while the other goals came up in the 35th and the 52nd minute.

Peramrigabo (19'), Chkachalakbou (70') also registered their names on the scoresheet and helped LYC notch up a 7-0 win over Namguilong side which ended their stay at the tournament with three losses.

In the Group B league match, SKYC, Sawombung rode on second half goals by Longmei Makuching (46') and Gangmei Thoibi (57') to thump Ramgailong side, RYC and topped the Group with 4 points from 1 win and 1 draw.

The Group C league match of the day was rather entertaining as a last gasp goal by Langanglung Pamei helped Namdunglong team, NYC to settle the game in a 2-2 draw with YKDC, Yurembam.

After barren first half, Roshan Khumba put YKDC ahead with a 1 -0 lead in the 43rd minute but Pougakdai Kamei of NYC slot home the equaliser in the 57th minute.

Aisaba Bariam was able to help YKDC retain the lead with a fine strike in the 67th minute but luck did not favoured them as Langanglung Pamei bring in the equaliser during the added time to settle the game 2-2.In the Group D league match of the day, Gideon Kaume (51') and Pouguigai Dangmei (66') scored one goal apiece to help DFC, Duigaipangjang seal a 2-0 win over KRYDC, Koirengei in a one sided match.

The win assured DFC, which beat Langthabal team in the first outing, to the knock-out round of the tournament as none of the other teams have earned full points so far.
