Manipur Karate team announced for National Championship in Dehradun

The Manipur Amateur Karate-Do Association (MAKA) has named a 24-member squad to represent the state at the upcoming KIO National Karate Championship for Sub-Junior, Cadet and Junior categories.
The competition will be held from June 12 to 15, 2025 at Dehradun's Multipurpose Hall, organised by the Karate India Organisation in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Karate Association.
The state team features athletes across various age groups and weight categories.
In the boys' group, the team includes Vareso Muivah (7 Years Kumite -25kg), Laipubam Leedra Sharma (8 Years Kumite -25kg), Yaiphaba Thokchom (10 Years Kumite -30kg), Sinthoiba Thiyam (11 Years Kata), Telheiba Nongthombam (11 Years Kumite -45kg), Pratik Dahal (12 Years Kata), Nirvan Kakchingtabam (12 Years Kumite -45kg), Ph Arif Khan (12 Years Kumite -40kg), Laishram Manithoiba (12 Years Kumite +50kg), Chingakham Dumbraj (13 Years Kumite -45kg), Laishram Maninganba Mettei (13 Years Kumite -50kg), Sanasam Yaiphaba (13 Years Kumite -55kg), and Phundreimayum Awes Allam (Junior Male Kumite +76kg).The girls' team comprises Langaini Soram (10 Years Female Kata and Kumite -40kg), Leana Longjam (10 Years Kumite -30kg and 10/11 Years Kata), Hunnigshumbam Victoria (10 Years Kumite -35kg), Takhellambam Chanu Yathoinganbi (11 Years Kumite -35kg) , Laipubam Hesita Devi (11 Years Kumite -40kg), Linthoi Khurauam (11 Years Kumite -45kg and 11/12 Years Kata), Nandeibam Joshi Chanu (12 Years Kumite -45kg), Khumukcham Lingjel Chanu (13 Years Kumite -50kg), W Lucky Devi (Cadet Kumite -42kg), Leoni Longjam (Cadet Individual Kata and Kumite -54kg), and K Nancy (Cadet Female Kumite -47kg) .
Leading the contingent are coaches Soibam Chandri-ma (SAI STC Karate coach), Soram Chinglen Luwang (KIO accredited coach), and Shinganming Marzah (Ukhrul coach).
The officiating team includes Renshi Soibam Bindeshori Chanu as KIO Referee Commission member and Sensei K Ningthem as referee, supported by managers Thiyam Somorendro and Tiken Dahal.
The team will depart on June 10 and return on June 17, 2025 .
