Imphal, July 15 2009:
A three-months Football Coaching Camp organised by the Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) Palace Compound, Imphal has begins today at Eastern ground, Wangkhei today.
ESU organised the coaching camp under the sponsorship of Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force, Langjing, Imphal as part of its Civic Action Programme.
DIG, GC CRPF, Langjing, MS Raghava graced the opening ceremony as chief guest.
State Information Commissioner, retired IAS Ch Birendra also participated the opening ceremony as guest of honour.
Retired District Session Judge, Th Sudhir was the president of the function.
Altogether 25 senior men players participated the coaching camp.
IGP, CRPF, Manipur Nagaland Region funded the camp at a total cost of Rs 2,59,070 that consist of Rs, 48,750 for refreshment for the 25 players for 45 days, Rs 22,500 for fees for two coaches for 45 days Rs 48,000 for repairing the football ground and many other first aid kits and sports item.
The sports item provide by CRPF were 50 pairs of football boots, six goalkeeper gloves, 25 anklets, 25 knee caps, 25 stockings, 44 practice shirts and suits, 6 goalkeeper practice shirts and suits and 50 footballs which cost Rs 64,220 and first aid kits worth Rs 7000 .
ESU and GC CRPF played an exhibition match today to mark the flag off of the coaching camp.
ESU beat CRPF 1-0 in a keenly contested match.
