Manipur's Meiraba ranks 3rd in BWF Junior Ranking

In a feat that has never been achieved by any shuttler from North East region, Manipur's Meiraba has scripted history by securing 3rd in Badminton World Federation (BWF) Junior ranking released on January 7 last.
Maisnam Meiraba Luwang had clinched three international titles at events organised under the supervision of BWF besides finishing in top three in few other events to make the country proud.
The 17 year old shuttler won the U-19 Men's Singles title at the White Knight, Russia Open International Championships held from July 4 to 7 under BWF/Europe Badminton and went on to win titles at Woncheon Yonex Korea Junior International Challenge held from Nov ember 27 to October 3 and Yonex Sunrise Bangladesh Junior International Series held from December 18 to 22 at Dhaka.
Meiraba who led India's junior team campaigns in Badminton Asia Junior Championship held at Suzhou China (July 20-28) and BWF World Junior Championships held at Pune last year also earned bronze medals in the Yonex-Singha- Roza-BTY Junior International Challenge 2019 held at Bangkok; Bulgarian Jr International Badminton Championships held at Pazardzhik City, Bulgaria and Singapore Youth International-2019.Meiraba also fetched a silver medal at the Yonex Sunrise India Junior Grand Prix International Badminton Championships held at Pune and earned 6 U-19 singles titles at National ranking events last year.
With numerous U-13, U-17 and U-19 singles, doubles and mixed titles in his name at the State, National and international events since 2013, the young shuttler is expected to earn more titles in the future events and bring laurels to the State and the country at large.
