JCRE GC, MC win MU judo tournament

Imphal, November 15 2024: With championship haul of two gold, two silver and one bronze medal, JCRE Global College (JCRE GC), Babupara were crowned men's champions and Mayai Lambi College (MC), Yumnam Huidrom (two gold and two silver) women's winners of the Naorem Rajendra Singh (M) & Naorem Tampakleima Devi Memorial (W) Manipur University Inter-College Judo Tournament 2024-25 .

The competition organised by JCRE GC, Babupara under the aegis of Manipur University Sports Committee was participated by 10 colleges affiliated to MU.

In men's completion, gold medals were won by Taorem Selon Singh of JCRE GC (below 56 kg); Laishram Bemocha of Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal (60 kg); Kh Jemiber of Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang (66 kg); Hijam Hemchand of Biramangol College, Sawombung (below 73 kg); Nongmeikapam Sanatomba of Pole Star College, Hiyanglam (below 81 kg); and Huidrom Rohen of MC (below 90 kg) .

Among the women judokas, the gold medal winners included Potshangbam Rojana of MC (below 44 kg); Mutum Roshibina of Pravabati College (below 48 kg); Saikhom Beauty of T S Paul Manipur Women's College, Mongsangei (below 52 kg); Sobhashini of Pravabati College (below 57 kg); Longjam Nokpheta of MC (below 63 kg); Silly Laishram of Regional College, Chajing (below 70 kg); and Malemnganbi Thounaojam of JCRE GC (above 7 8 kg) .

Pravabati College, with one gold, two silver and two bronze medals in men's competition and two gold medals in women's secured the runner-ups title.
