Imphal, July 28 2024: Indian Army organised the Kargil Vijay Diwas Football Tournament at Moirang in the Bishnupur district from July 23 to 26, 2024 .

Kumbi FC, UYT Thamnapokpi, KNK Kaibul and WPC Wangoo participated in the tournament held at Moirang Multipurpose School Football Stadium.

The final match and the closing ceremony was held on July 26, with S Ravi Kumar SP Bishnupur, PH Magha Singh, general secretary District Football Association, Leading Aircraftman (retd) H Sarat Singh, president Ex-Servicemen Society, and other senior officers from Army in attendance.

Four native war veterans of the 2 Naga Regiment Nk N Let-zamang, Nk D Pak, sub (honorary lieutenant) Thangkhojang and Nk Haulienlal who participated in the Kargil War and contributed to the victory were felicitated.

The event also featured a flag hoisting and a captivating band display.

The final match was played between Kumbi FC and WPC Wangoo.

WPC Wangoo emerged victorious with a score of 1-0.The winning team received a trophy and cash prize.

The final match attracted over 400 residents.
