Imphal, March 23 2018: Khurai Polo Club and Chingkheihunba Polo Club today drubbed their opponents to seal their places in the quarter finals of the 28th Governor's Cup Invitation Polo Tournament 2018 (men's) being organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.

The first match of the day witnessed, Khurai Polo Club (KPC) dominate Assam Rifles Polo Team right from the first chukker.

T Roshan was unstoppable today as he struck 3 goals in the first chukker to give his team a 5-0 lead with another two goals, one each from O Rojer and L Thomson.

T Roshan and O Rojer chipped in one goal respectively in the second chukker and the third chukker to extend the lead to 7-0.O Rojer and L Thomson then took honour to add one goal each in the last chukker and wrapped up the game with a comfortable 9-0 win.

In the second match of the day, Chingkheihunba Polo Club (CHPC) secured a similar win against CRPF Polo Team.

Chingkheihunba Polo Club rode on T Leishemba (2 goals), A Basanta and L Kokeshwor to post a 4-0 lead in the first chukker.

The second chukker witnessed Th Kaoba and L Kokeshwor score one each for CHPC while Y Okendrajit of CRPF Polo Team added one goal to make it 1-6 .

CHPC raced ahead with an unassailable 12-3 lead in the third chukker as Y Suraj hammered 4 goals alone and Kokeshwor hit two against one goal each from A Shyamananda and O Samarjit of the rivals' team.

The goal fest did not end here as Basanta and Th Kaoba went on to score one goal apiece and handed their team a comprehensive 14-3 victory.
