Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, July 18 2022: PTRC, Patsoi crushed AKSDO, Khangabok by 257 runs while ESU thumped PTCC by 7 wickets, all for the second wins in the ongoing1st MNCAU-14 Boys Tournament.

In the Group A league match staged at PCC ground, AKSDO won the toss and chose to field first.

They however had to regret their decision as Robinson Sougaijam blazed off 26 fours and 6 sixes on the way to his 75-ball 156 and Salam Richi (77 off 41 balls) and Ngambarel Naoshekpam (70 not out) racked up half centuries to ensure PTRC a huge total of 364 runs for 2 in 30 overs.

Chingamba Elangbam and Paikhomba Laishram of the Khangabok side picked up a wicket each in this innings which saw first wicket partnership of 143 runs before Salam Richie got out for 77 runs and second wicket partnership of 197 runs before Chingamba bowled Robinson out for 156 .

Stoneson was also unbeaten on 19 as PTRC gave AKSDO a target of 365 runs.

In the chase, AKSDO faltered badly and were bowled out for 107 within 23.3 overs as Henba Paonam grabbed 6 wickets alone spilling only 16 runs in his spell of 6 overs and Benson Yumnam, Lamnganba Pheiroijam, Bedabiyas Pheiroijam and Robinson Sougaijam picked up a wicket apiece to lead the collapse. Borish Khundrakpam who scored 17 runs was the highest run getter for AKSDO today.

- Robinson Sougaijam was eventually named man of the match.

Elsewhere in a Group B league match at PTRC ground, ESU who had beaten YPHU in the previous match eased to a 7 wicket win after restricting PTCC to a lowly total of 50 runs in 21.3 overs.

Bishomcha Khundrakpam wreaked havoc with his im-peccable bowling performance to scalp five wickets as PTCC won the toss and opted to bat first.

With Soibam Venus and Hanjabam Naoba picking up another two wickets each, PTCC folded up their innings for 50 runs with Chingakham Nikhil adding the highest 18 .

In the chase, ESU also faltered and slipped to 12 for 2 after 3.1 overs with Dhirendrakumar Naorem of PTCC removing the openers cheaply, but Md Atif Shah (12) and Hanjabam Naoba (22) make sure that ESU post a winning 51 in 7.5 overs with 7 wickets left in the hand.

Bishomcha Khundrakpam of ESU who claimed five wickets for 10 runs in 5.3 overs was adjudged man of the match.
