Wushu: Imphal East, Bishnupur win overall team champion titles

Imphal, June 28 2014: Imphal East Wushu team emerged overall team champion in the Taohe event by winning 12 gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze medals on the conclusion day of the 16th State Level Boys & Girls Wushu Championship 2014, organized by Imphal West District Wushu Association under the aegis of Wushu Association of Manipur at Moidangpok Iputhou Korouhandba Mandop today.

On the other hand, Bishnupur team won the overall team champion title in the Sanshou event by winning 9 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 10 bronze medals.

In today's matches, H.Robinson of Bishnupur won the gold medal in the Sub-Junior Boys' event of under 20 kg category while Y.Biran of Imphal West bagged the silver medal.

.MNelson of Thoubal clinched gold medal in the Sub-Junior Boys' event of 24 kg.

.WBiken of Bishnupur bagged the silver medal while H.Suresh of Bishnupur and W.Bikash of Thoubal won 1 bronze medal each in the same category.

In the 28 kg Sub-Junior Boys' event, O.Samikanta of Bishnupur and Bikash of Thouba won the gold and the silver medal respectively.

In the Junior Boys' event of 52 kg, M.Ramesh Chandra of Bishnupur won 1 gold medal.
