Subroto titles for MUGHSS, St Paul, St Peter

Imphal, May 26 2025: St Paul's Higher Secondary School, MUGHSS and St Peter's Higher Secondary School respectively wrested the titles in Under-15 boys, U-17 boys and U-17 girls' competition of the Chandel District Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2025 .

In the U-15 final match played on Monday at Chandel Mini Sports Complex, St Paul's defeated St Joseph's High School 6-4 via the penalty shootout after normal period of the summit clash ended on a 2-2 stalemate.

Aratkung scored the St Paul's goals in the 10th and 55th minute while St Joseph's school equalised through Bungthot (17th) and Bungwarngam (51st).In the penalty shootout, St Paul's netted four goals compared to two by their rivals.

The title of the U-17 boys was also decided via the tie-breaker after a 1-1 draw.

Eventual champions MUGHSS overcame St Paul's High School 5-3 in the shootout.

Earlier, Lungir Chothe (10th) opened the score for St Paul's as Thungningam (68th) restored parity for MUGHSS.

In the U-17 girls' final, St Peter's Higher Secondary School trounced ACI 6-0 with Christina (15th & 20th), Monica (17th & 62nd) and Alphani (27th & 47th) netting the team goals.
