Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : Robinson hits unbeaten 115 as PTRC crush YPHUC by 152 runs

Robinson scored an unbeaten 115 to help PTRC-Patsoi Part IV register a convincing 152 run victory over YPHUC-Lalambung Makhong in a Group B match of the ongoing 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajninthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 at Lairenjam Public Ground today.
Put in to bat first, PTRC amassed an emphatic total of 287 runs for 2 wickets as Riche (83-ball 74) and Robinson (115 not out off 98 balls) and bowled out YPHUC for 135 runs in 27.3 overs.
Birbal and Ronanta shared a wicket each in this innings before they slumped to a total of 135 runs in the chase despite Eshwor adding a 91-ball 50 .
Jackson was pick of the PTRC bowlers as he scalped 5 wickets for 28 runs in his spell of 7 overs which contain a maiden as Bush (2/13) chipped in with two wickets.

Ngambarel, Robinson and James were also able to seal a wicket each to set up the YPHUC batting collapse.
Robinson who starred with the bat and scalped one wicket was eventually adjudged man of the match.
In another Group B match staged at Model Hr Sec School and Oriental College ground, ESU demolished SCCC-Singjamei Thongam Leikai by 8 wickets for the second straight win.
SCCC won the toss and elected to bat first but were bundled out for a meagre total of 76 runs in 29.4 overs by ESU who chased down the target in just 15.1 overs.
H Rahul was the highest run getter for SCCC with 27 runs in their innings as S Abhinash of ESU fetched three wickets in 6 overs conceding only 7 runs while Ksh Bishomacha (2/10) and H Donba (2/31) shared two wickets each.
Th Simesh and H Naoba also chipped in with a wicket apiece before Hanjabam Donba (30) and Soibam Venus (11) finished off the chase with style.
E Taibanganba with two wickets in his name was the best bowler for SCCC.
Hanjabam Donba who bagged two wickets and added highest 30 runs for ESU was adjudged man of the match.
In today's Group A matches, MPA-Thounaojam sealed their second straight victories by beating PTCC-Patsoi Part III by 17 runs in a low scoring encounter while TRAU beat PCC by 46 runs for the first win in second matches.
After winning the toss at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, PTCC elected to bowl first and skittled MPA out for 84 runs within 19 overs but failed horribly in the chase as Albish of MPA was too hot to handle.
Only Th Rohit (16) reached double digit score for MPA in their innings as others departed cheaply with L Anao (3/15) and Nikhil (4/20) leading the bowling attack for PTCC.
For PTCC, N Lanleiba (11), Karnajit (14) and Somobanta (16) were notable batsmen as Albish enjoyed a 6 wicket haul (6/20 in 7 overs) and Rohit scalped twice (2/24 in 7 overs) .
Albish who produced a fierce bowling performance was eventually named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Dhobi Lampak, TRAU who suffered a first game defeat pulled off a 46 run victory over PCC-Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi.
TRAU, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, could muster only 109 runs in 31.2 overs but the total proved too big for PCC as they were all out for 63 runs within 18.2 overs.
Swabhiman (21), Ishorchandra (12) and Ganguly (22) were key scorers for TRAU in their innings which saw Prasanta of PCC claiming 5 crucial wickets by conceding 23 runs in as many as 7 overs.
Yoimayai (2/15), Lucky (1/7), Pravin (1/11) and Ajay (1/23) also bowled economically to restrict TRAU at 109 .
Swabhiman of TRAU however devastated PCC line up with an impeccable bowling performance and came out with the best figures of 6/15 in 7 overs which include four maidens while his team mates Preetson (2/19) and Luching (2/3) shared two wickets each.
Only Lucky (17) and Ajay (15) were double digit run getters for PCC in the chase.
Swabhiman who claimed 6 wickets and added 21 runs for TRAU was adjudged man of the match.
