Imphal, April 17: Herojit's 42nd minute strike helped YWC, Thambalkhong pip TRAU, Tiddim Road 1-0 in a group match of the 4th L Saratchandra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament being played at Kongkhampat ground, Nambol.

The day's other match between NEROCA, Shangakpham and AMOFA, Moirang ended inconclusively as the Moirang side staged a walkout with the former leading 2-1 .

With Nabachandra breaking the first half stalemate in the 55th minute and Dhiren extending the NEROCA lead to 2-0 10 minutes later, AMOFA's L Bikram pulled back one for the Moirang side whose insistence for a penalty award in added period literally reduced the otherwise exciting tie to a farce.

The match official awarded a free kick to AMOFA on the left top of the NEROCA box two minutes into the three minute injury time but the Moirang side was adamant the infringement had taken place inside the restricted zone and deserves a spot kick.

As the argument had no bearing upon the official, AMOFA players refused to resume play.

moreover, the Moirang side is likely to face more stringent punishment on account of four of its players being shown the yellow card which is considered violation of specified competition rules.

The scoreline could have been different had NEROCA converted a penalty award in the 20th minute.
