1st MNCA Men's U-23 Tournament : Th Joychandra hits unbeaten ton as CRAU overwhelm PTCC by 99 runs

Thongam Joychandra produced a masterful knock of 67-ball 116 to inspire CRAU, Khamnam Bazar a commanding 99-run victory over PTCC, Patsoi Part III in a Group D encounter of the 1st MNCA H Biramangol Singh Memorial U-23 Men's Cricket Tournament.
Opting to bat first at Model HSS and Oriental College ground, CRAU overcame early hiccups to post an innings total of 244/9 in 40 overs with Joychandra providing a last flourish by finding the fence 19 times including 7 maximums.
They skittled out PTCC for 145 in 37.3 riding on a concerted bowling effort to seal their third win in four matches.

Heishnam Joyhenba 27 and Lamabam Jotin 23 also made significant contribution to CRAU's tally after they opted to bat first.
L Anao 2/36, Ch Nikhil 2/52 and M Gunggung 2/54 shared 6 wickets for PTCC before the slumped to 145 all out despite Paonam Champion's 100-bal 72 and M Dominic's 39 as Dinu Sarangthem (2/16) and Khumanthem Prakash (2/26) shared a bulk of four wickets for CRAU while three others picked a wicket apiece.
Joychandra was eventually adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, PCC, Mayaikoibi defeated Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha by 5 wickets for their second Group D win in four matches.
Model Club elected to bat first but were bowled out for 118 runs in 29.1 overs as PCC skipper Ajay Mh Kumar (6/15 in 5.1 overs) and compatriot L Chingkheihunba (2/25) devastated their line up.
PCC then cruised to winning 122 in 27.1 overs with five wickets left to spare as Takhelmayum Bikash 46 not out, Lucky Thokchom 30 and Nongdambam Khunjamayum 28 batted sensibly.
For Model Club, Dibak Naorem 38 and Bisal Ningombam 37 were the only double digit run getters before Suson Yanglem picked three wickets (3/17) in a lost cause.
Ajay Mh Kumar was adjudged player of the match.
The day also saw SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai register a 15-run victory over IBSA, Yumnam Leikai in a Group C encounter.
SCCC, who were put in to bat first, were bowled out for 150 runs in 28.5 overs with Pravesh (4/29) and Boney Potsangbam (3/31) leading the IBSA bowling attack but the total proved too big to IBSA who succumbed to 135 all out in 23.5 overs as Shyam Kumar Ray ran through the IBSA line up on the way to his 6 wicket haul (6/20 in 6.5 overs) .
For SCCC, Basant scored a noteworthy 61-ball 81 and Bicky Kumar Das added 27 off 37 balls.
In the chase, K Nelson 25, L Ansh 38, Jahir Khan 19 and Mk Tamim 23 toiled hard to keep the scoreboard ticking but SCCC bowlers emerged on top at the end.
Shyam Kumar Ray who starred with the ball was adjudged player of the match.
