Imphal, November 12 2024: Pebam Seleucus of UBA bagged youth men's 75 kg category gold as Leimapokpam Rahul of STC Utlou grabbed elite men's 92 kg category gold medal in the 2nd Governor's Cup Boxing Championships being organised by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

Seleucus won a 3-2 split decision against Khangchrakpam Premchand of SAI STC Imphal in the title clash staged today to earn the top honour as Leimapokpam Binod Kumar of STC Utlou won the youth men's 70 kg category title defeating SRBA-A's Aheibam Mangal 4-1 in the final bout.

Youth men's 50 kg category title went to Thongam Nilbir of SRBA-A who defeated MKBA-A's T Amarjit 5-0 in the final today as Herison Phurailatpam of PBA won the 55 kg title with a 4-1 final victory against MKBA-A's Bilat Leivon Kom, Moirangthem Yaikhomba of MKBA-A overwhelmed Y Bikram of SAI STC Imphal 5-0 for the 60 kg category title and MKBA-A's Sinam Allar defeated Semmi Shangh of SRBA-A 4-1 in the 65 kg category title clash.

Elite Men

Leimapokpam Rahul of STC Utlou clinched the elite men's 92 kg category competition gold today as he sealed an RSC win in the third round against A Shitaljit of MBA in the final bout today.

Earlier in the day, SRBA-A's Laishram Edipak won a 5-0 unanimous decision against UYDC's Th Robert in the 51 kg title clash as Jackson Pukhrambam of MKBA-A won a 3-2 split decision against PBA's M Ranbir for the 54 kg category title.

The 57 kg category title went to STC Utlou's Leichombam Lamnganba who beat P Kingson of MKBA-A as Thangjamcha Lakhmani of NBA won a 4-1 decision againstN Puskar of UYDC for the 60 kg category title.

Meanwhile, MSBA's Pheiroijam Meibrajit won 4-1 against MKBA-A's M Chinglemba to seal the 63.5 kg event gold as NBA's Keisham Johnson won the 67 kg category title by defeating N Khambaton of MKBA-A and MSBA's Shagolshem Binodchandra claimed the 71 kg category gold by defeating SRBA-A's N Jackson in the final bout.

Elite Women

The day also saw Huidrom Karuna of SAI STC Imphal clinch the elite women's 48 kg category gold by defeating Venika Yumnam of MKBA-A 3-2 in the final bout.

Youth Women

MKBA-A's Thangjam Sneha, Luwangleima Soram and Nimsolan Khapai Shimrah won gold medals in youth women's 48 kg, 51 kg and 65 kg category competitions today.

Sneha eased to a 4-1 win over SRBA-A's Rinngam Vashi in the final today as Luwangleima prevailed 5-0 against SAI STC Imphal's A Ajita Chanu and Nimsolan pulled off a 4-1 win over Thodam Neha of SAI STC Imphal.

The 54 kg category title in the meantime went to Phuritshabam Renuka of SAI STC Imphal who defeated N Ripa of UYDC in the final bout.

Junior Boys

The day also witnessed SRBA-A's Thongram Manithoiba, Th Khongnang, Ngathingshang Valui and Vikash Sorokhaibam clinching gold medals in the junior boys' 50 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, and 75 kg category events respectively.

Manithoiba sealed the gold medal by defeating NSA-A's N Akaba 5-0 as Th Khongnang defeated M Lanngamba of NBA 3-2, Ngathingshang prevailed 5-0 over Ksh Bluntchily of MBA and Vikash sealed an RSC win in third round against RK Max of UYDC.

MKBA-A's Thoumujam Paikhomba meanwhile sealed the 52 kg category gold by defeating Kh Nongsaba of PBA as UYDC's Md Abdul Noor defeated SRBA-A's Kh Mangal for the 54 kg category title, Keisham Thoungamba of UYDC picked up a 3-2 win against Rajkumar Yumkhaibam for the 63 kg title, Prabin Naorem of PKBA defeated T Radhakanta of MBA 5-0 for the 66 kg category title and Yubraj Angom of STC Utlou defeated Kh Barun of MSBA 5-0 for the 80 kg category title.

Junior Girls

MKBA-A and SRBA-A shared 8 gold medals between them in the junior girls competition today.

MKBA-A's Moirangthem Khrismira won a 5-0 unanimous decision against Singsa W Shimray of SRBA-A in the junior girls 45 kg category title clash as compatriot Ngalangam Pheirei took the 48 kg category title with an identical win against T Alena Chanu of SAI STC Imphal.

Gunshalu Khumba of MKBA-A also registered a 5-0 win over MKBA-B's Themsingphi R Makan of MKBA-B to seal the 50 kg category title as compatriot Lanchalu Malangmei won a 3-2 split decision for the 52 kg category title against A Soniya of SRBA-A .

SRBA-A's Longjam Radhamani opened SRBA-A's gold medal account by defeating SRBA-B's N Purnima in the 54 kg category final bout before compatriot Menaka Sharungbam defeated L Sanjana of UBA 5-0 for the 57 kg category title, Yumnam Niha posted an RSC win in the first round against MBA's Saikhom Bema for the 60 kg category title and Tekcham Niha overwhelmed SRBA-B's P Roshili 5-0 for the 60 kg category title.
