K Sanand of BDHLTTA wins -62 kg senior men's Phunaba Ama gold

K Sanand of BDHLTTA, Kakyai claimed the -62 kg senior men's Phunaba Ama goldmedal on the third day of the 34th State SubJunior and Senior Thang-Ta Championships being underway at Thang-Ta Shanglen, Yumnam Huidrom.

K Sanand defeated L Lenin of TTM, Yumnam Huidrom to seal the gold medal as M Chingkheingnba of LKTAS, Kangmong bagged the bronze medal.

M Santosh of BDHLTTA in the meantime clinched -50 kg as Kh Panan of IGMA-SAI won the -54 kg category gold; W Pritam of ICASA, Konung Mamang won the -58 kg category gold; Ph Bishoijit of KTTSS, Kangmong won the -66 kg category gold, P Babi of PAHULASI, Mayaikoibi won the -70 kg category gold, N Krishnachand of NKSFI,Tentha Heibung won the -75kg category gold and Sh Iralsana of UHLA, Samurou bagged the +80 category gold.

Phunaba Ani

M Johnson of TTCA, Moirang fought his way to the -66 kg category title in the senior men's Phunaba Ani event by defeating Y Deepak of TTM, Yumnam Huidrom in the final today.

Wahengbam Yaiphaba of UHLA, Samurou meanwhile settled for the bronze medal in the same category.

Gold medallists in the other categories include Asem Telheiba of CCTCA, Singjamei (-46 kg); Meisnam Naoba of TTM (-54 kg), W Bidyasagar of TTCA, Moirang (-58 kg); S Lamjingba ofTTCA (-62 kg); N Bikash of Ngaikhong Khunou (-70 kg); Y Rohit of TTM (-75 kg); M Lamnganba of PAHULASI (-80 kg) and Sagolshem Nikhil of ANJIKA (+80 kg) .

Senior Women's Phunaba Ama

L Ayingba of SCTA, Waiton sealed the gold medal in the senior women's -44 kg Phunaba Ama event as L Roshni of BDHLTTA bagged the -48 kg category title.

H Roniya of LKTAS (-52 kg), Kh Pryanka of ANJIKA (-56 kg), H Aleea of KTTCA-Lairikyengbam Leikai (-60 kg), N Tombi of Tombi Thang-Ta (-64 kg), N Puja of ANJIKA (-76 kg) and L Shelly of ANJIKA (+76 kg) also won gold medals in their respective categories.

Senior Women's Phunaba Ani

Moirangthem Likla of TTCA, Moirang earned the senior women's -44 kg category Phunaba Ani title today by defeating H Bevika of UHLA, Moirang as S Malemnganbi of TTCA (-56 kg), Kh Sandhyapati of Tombi Thang-Ta (-60 kg) and K Merina of IKTTCA, Moidangpok (-64 kg) earned top honours in their respective categories.

Sub-junior boys Phunaba Ani

Maisnam Lamnganba LKTAS, Kangmong won the sub-junior boys' -49 kg Phunaba Ani gold today by defeating L Malemnganba of ANJIKA in the final as Khundongbam Sanathoi of MNTT, Heirok beat Kh Pigan of UHLA to seal the -53 kg category gold.

E Jetly of MNTT meanwhile bagged the +53 kg category gold by getting better of A Lemba in the title bout.
