Imphal, May 08 2013: The proscribed RPF asserted that neither Oinam Samananda alias Kaoba (30) s/o Yaima of Tokpaching Sarik Konjin nor Amit Kumar (27) of Kakching, but staying at Churachandpur Loklaifai village were/are members of the RPF or its armed wing PLA.

An RPF statement issued by its chief, department of Publicity Bangkim dismissed claims by both the police and PIB (DW) statements linking Samananda and Amit Kumar to the insurgent outfit.

While Thoubal district police claimed to have arrested Samananda from Wangoo Lamkhai on May 6 morning, the PIB (DW) release contended that Amit Kumar was nabbed by troops of 1/11 Gorkha Rifles and 27 Assam Rifles on May 1 .
