Imphal, October 19 2015:
Four clans of Chadong village have urged the State Government to come up with a comprehensive rehabilitation policy for the villagers who have been affected by recent flood water from the Thoubal Multipurpose Project built over the Thoubal River.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, representative of the four clans, R Kasar said that instead of providing rehabilitating assistance, and alternative source of livelihood, the State Government extended compensation to affected villagers.
A memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Minister on April 17 this year urging to set up a comprehensive rehabilitation policy for the villagers.
However, there has been no positive response from the State Government till date.
