Imphal, September 06: One of the bus passengers from among the Imphal-bound vehicles stranded at Khuzuma in Nagaland along National Highway 39 on account of the general strike died of a heart attack this afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Chingjason (30) s/o Demkhoneng of Chintung Veng, Churachandpur district.

Following the incident, an agreement was arrived at with the Mao Council which is sponsoring the genral strike and allowed the Imphal-bound bus (MN10-4617) to cross Mao along with all the passengers later during the day.

The general strike had been called by Mai Council from 5 am to 5 pm in protest against merging of the Assembly sengments of Tadubi A/C by the Delimitation Commission.
