MPP decries

Stressing on the need of intervention by the Governor in the present law and order situation of the state, the Manipur People�s Party (MPP) has decried the abduction bid of K Manikanta, a sub editor of Hueiyen Lanpao English Edition on February 8 around 12:45 am.
In a press release, MPP stated that police commandos arrested A Mobi, Editor, Sanaleibak local daily on December 29.2010 on false allegations.
With such threats journalists in the state have been carrying out their duties from dawn to late in the night.
The failed abduction bid of the journalist and this has caused uncertainty, fear and doubt in the minds of the people.
However, CM who is also the Home Minister is not doing anything to prevent such threats.
Frustrated over the lack of interest by the CM, AMWJU had even decided to submit a memorandum to the Governor.
Drawing attention of the Governor, MPP urged for immediate intervention by the Governor in the present law and order situation in the state.
The press release further stated that if remedial steps are not taken, only those who are well guarded by security personnel will remain in the state.
