Imphal, May 18: Issuing clarification on the death of Mayengbam Tomba and Malsawm Vaiphei slain at Tera Urak, Tamukhong on May 11, KNF charged the duo as the collectors of USRA.

Narrating the incident, a press release sent out by the commander of eastern division of the outfit, LS Joel asserted that USRA opened fire to them when KNA cadres went to investigate following villagers complaining that USRA cadres were collecting money from the trucks quarrying sand.

Conveying that USRA commander Genminlien escaped narrowly in the incident, KNF asserted that they recovered one AK 56 rifle during the shoot-out.

KNF also urged womenfolk not to stage any dharna against the killing.

The USRA cadres must surrender to KNF at the earliest, warned KNF.
