Imphal, May 11 2009: In compliance with the office memorandum issued by the Chancellor on April 29 as well as the office order issued by the Vice Chancellor on May 11, Registrar of Manipur University has announced that the University shall not recognise any students' union until the formation of the union is brought under the Statues of the University.

The Registrar further informed that as instructed by the Chancellor, the University shall institute a Students' Council under Statute 40 of Manipur University Act, 2005 with effect from the academic session 2009-2010 .
